Prepare detailed estimates in accordance with the scope of work, blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare quantity take-offs, for foundations, structural steel, pipe, and process equipment.
Understand the construction equipment requirements.
Understand the temporary facilities requirement and field non-manual staffing requirements.
Assist in the solicitation of quotes from material and equipment suppliers, subcontractors, and specified manufacturers.
Distributes and maintains control of bid documents.
Identifies special Client or project requirements for weather protection, cranes, hoists, HES requirements and services.
Analyze project location and productivity associated with the location.
Reviews labor costs and applicable licensing requirements.
Ensures that all bid forms are completed and properly executed.
Facilitate bid review meetings with Business Unit Management, Estimating group, and/or business line management to finalize bid.
Coordinate with other departments during the bid process on proposals.
Qualifications
5+ years’ of civil experience - being able to estimate of other crafts is a plus
Competitive bid experience in the petro-chemical, power, gas processing, refining and other heavy industrial facilities.
Construction field experience highly preferred.
Advanced knowledge or estimating strategies and techniques.
Thorough understanding of construction industry practices, processes, and standards and their impact on project activities
Knowledge of estimating Best Practices.
Occasional travel required.
Follow safety regulations while on jobsite visits including the wearing of proper attire, safety gear, protective hat, safety glasses and shoes as required.
Good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
